The University College of Engineering Tindivanam (a Constituent College of Anna University, Chennai) was inaugurated by Dr. M. Karunanithi, the then Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on July 1, 2008. The first-year classes for students commenced in September 2008 in the presence of Dr. K. Ponmudy. Honorable Minister of Higher Education, Tamil Nadu. Dr. R. Raju, Special Officer of UCET campus, shouldered the responsibilities of establishing the College and overseeing. the growth of UCE-Tindivanam. UCET is one of the Zonal centers of AUC & AUTC. It is proposed to start a Regional Research Centre at UCET. It was established with four departments namely Civil Engineering. Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology with an intake. of 300 students.
This university campus is a place for budding engineers to widen their technical knowledge, enabling to enhance their innovative ideas by effectively accessing all available technical resources found inside the campus.
This campus provides great support for technical education by bringing in a number of well-experienced experts from various disciplines as staff members. Most of the staff members here, being doctoral holders in their respective fields, are packed with information so that the students' thirst for research is easily quenched.
