The department of Chemistry was established in the year 2008 under Anna University Chennai. The Department has 3 well qualified faculty members, 2 Research Scholars and 1 technical staff. It has been successfully running with a consistent track record. The Department of Chemistry endeavours to equip students with up-to-date knowledge and it strives to make them contribute to the ever-changing, technology-centered world of today. The department has designed its program in such a way that students understand how chemistry is a way of thinking about how matter is constructed, organized, and functioned.
     The department values teaching and research as equal and essential components of the education of our students and seeks to integrate research with teaching at every possible opportunity in the curriculum. The department also strives to help students become scientifically responsible citizens, with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will allow them to be successful in scientific or non-scientific professions. It fulfils its objectives by providing students with a variety of learning opportunities such as formal courses with integrated laboratories. With all its dedicated activities, the department will help to enhance the recognition and reputation of University College of Engineering locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
